Murder & Corruption Digital Scavenger Hunt
The interactive digital scavenger hunt offers school groups an exciting way to explore London while discovering more about life in the city during the Victorian era. In small teams, pupils use their smartphones to follow clues and solve puzzles as they help young Scotland Yard detective Arthur Vane investigate a murder. A factory worker has already been blamed for the crime, but his nine-year-old daughter Lizzie is convinced that he is innocent and has stolen the police file containing the evidence. The pupils must track her down, recover the file, examine witness statements, identify manipulated documents and uncover the true murderer before an innocent man is convicted. The route leads through the historic streets of London and takes around two hours. Along the way, pupils independently explore themes such as social inequality, working-class life, policing and the difference between law and justice in Victorian Britain, all while becoming part of an immersive murder mystery. Teachers can either join the investigation themselves or use the time to take a well-earned break nearby.
